Kodo Millet, also called as Varaghu in Tamil and Kodra in Hindi, is a healthy alternative to paddy rice. It is commonly consumed due to its ability to be easily digested, along with its range of nutrients and minerals, specifically fibre, magnesium and protein. Those with gluten intolerances also often select Kodo Millet as it is gluten free. Kodo Millet is also popularly consumed by diabetics as it has a low glycemic index.
