Ganga Narmada punya teertham
Sindhu Saraswati Kaveri
jeevana kaarana moola tatvam
nadi Raashtrasya maha amritam
The rivers of Bharat which have nourished us for millennia are now facing dangerous levels of depletion. On average, major rivers have depleted by about 40% since Independence. Just as they have embraced us for generations and made our lives, we need to embrace them now.
This chant has been created to instill a sense of pride in our rivers and to bring awareness so that we can act on this imminent need.
Bharat – the great land
The land with the pure waters of Ganga, Narmada,
Sindhu, Saraswati and Kaveri
where water is seen as that element which is the basis and the source of all life.
Rivers are the lifelines of this nation – Bharat
The great land of Bharat is formed by the pure waters of mighty rivers like Ganga, Narmada, Sindhu, Saraswati and Kaveri, to name a few. Rivers define this nation; we have not seen the rivers as just water bodies, we have seen them as life-giving gods or goddesses; they are the fundamental building blocks of life.
Rally for Rivers is a nationwide campaign to create awareness about the dire state of our rivers. Only with people’s support can the government on the state and central levels be able to implement a policy to save our rivers. Sadhguru himself will be driving over 7000 km, across 16 states with over 20 events in major cities.
Join the cause now and pledge to save our rivers by giving a missed call to 80009 80009.
“This is not a protest. This is not an agitation. This is a campaign to raise awareness that our rivers are depleting. Everyone who consumes water must Rally for Rivers.” – Sadhguru
